One of the major decisions to make when migrating your ERP to Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365BC) cloud is what type of licensing to go with. Microsoft Business Central is meant to fit the needs of small and midsize businesses with core business requirements. It is designed to easily integrate all the fundamental needs within an organization such as sales, financials, operations, and more. In terms of licensing, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers two Subscription Licensing (SL) options: Full Users and Additional Users. The licenses are named users which means each user requires an individual username. They cannot be shared with others, yet they are able to access the system through multiple devices.
Full User Licensing is for those who require access to all functionality and utilize the rich business applications within the system. Additional User Licensing is for the members who do not require full user capabilities, but may complete light tasks such as time or expense entry. Full User Licensing is comprised of Essentials and Premium, and for the purpose of this piece, we will focus on the Premium Functionality.
