Sikich Acquires Federal Contracts from Cherry Bekaert

CHICAGO – December 16, 2024 – Sikich, a leading global technology-enabled professional services company, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Federal contracts of Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC supporting the US Patent and Trademark Office. Six members from Cherry Bekaert’s team are joining Sikich in connection with the transaction. The team brings extensive experience in cost management and activity-based information. Separately, Aurpon Bhattacharya will join Sikich as a principal in the Federal Government practice as the company further cements its industry leadership in the space.

With the completion of the acquisition of the Federal contracts of Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC supporting the US Patent and Trademark Office, Sikich marks its fifth successful transaction in the D.C. metropolitan area over the last five years. The move significantly enhances Sikich’s leadership position as a full-service provider to government agencies and contractors:

• 2019: Sikich acquires public accounting firm Halt, Buzas & Powell
• 2022: Sikich acquires Cotton & Company
• 2023: Sikich acquires the Federal Government Practice of CLA
• 2024: Sikich acquires Saggar & Rosenberg

In May, Sikich secured a minority growth investment of $250 million from Bain Capital to help fund its robust acquisition strategy, enhance operational excellence and cement its professional services leadership position. The transaction is a departure from traditional private equity deals in professional services, leaves Sikich with majority control of the company, and is testament to its track record and growth strategy.
