Mary O’Connor, partner-in-charge of the Forensic and Valuation practice at Sikich, was recently awarded the American Property Tax Counsel’s Martin S. Katz Memorial Award. This award was given to Mary for her significant contributions to valuation theory and implementation of equitable real estate assessment practices.
Mary was honored with this award at American Property Tax Counsel’s Annual Tax Seminar, where she also served as a speaker. The APTC Annual Tax Seminar brings together nationally known presenters and experienced property tax attorneys to collaborate on strategies to reduce and manage property taxes. This year’s theme was Valuation on the Cutting Edge: Utilizing Data in an Evolving Market.
As partner-in-charge of the Forensic and Valuation practice at Sikich, Mary helps clients conduct business valuations, appraise tangible and intangible assets for litigation and financial statement reporting, and provide fairness and solvency opinions. Her team supports companies across a range of industries, including health care, government, agriculture, technology, financial services, manufacturing, real estate asset management and development, hospitality, and more. She has provided litigation consulting and expert witness testimony to federal, state and local jurisdictions – including the Property Tax Appeals Board – in national and international cases.
