Sikich Adds to Employee Benefit Plan Audit Team to Support Rapid Growth

CHICAGO — February 26, 2024 — Sikich recently added two senior team members to the company’s employee benefits plan audit team, which grew its revenue by more than 30% in 2023. Ingrid Boyd will join as a partner and Yolanda Alvarado will join as a director on the team.

“Ingrid and Yolanda have extensive experience and deep technical knowledge to support our growing client base by executing quality and efficient plan audits,” said Karen Sanchez, principal-in-charge of Sikich’s employee benefit plan audit team. “Especially as our team has now expanded to audits of federal plans and transitioned to a dedicated year-round practice, the addition of skilled subject matter experts will be critical to continuing to bring innovative and high-value solutions to our clients. I’m thrilled to have Ingrid and Yolanda on the team and know that they will be strong assets to our practice.”

Boyd, a principal in the employee benefit plan audit practice, has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, guiding clients on a range of technical topics such as SEC compliance and reporting. Prior to joining Sikich, she served as a managing director and the Regional Center for Excellence leader of employee benefit plan audits at Grant Thornton. She has also held senior roles at Monsanto Company and KPMG. Boyd earned her bachelor’s degree in business with a focus in accounting from California State University, San Marcos.

Alvarado will join Sikich as an audit director in the employee benefit plan audit practice. She has nearly 25 years of audit experience, formerly serving as an employee benefits audit director at Grant Thornton. Alvarado earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from DePaul University.

These new hires come at the heels of additional growth on Sikich’s audit team. In January, Julia Duquette joined Sikich as a partner in its federal audit practice.
