CHICAGO — January 29, 2024 — Julia Duquette recently joined Sikich as an audit partner in the company’s federal audit practice. Duquette has more than 30 years of experience performing financial and performance audits, analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of operational and administrative processes, and leading audit readiness reviews.
“Julia’s extensive background managing accounting and audit engagements in the federal government space will elevate Sikich’s federal audit capabilities and bring valuable expertise to our clients,” said Melinda DeCorte, partner and federal audit practice leader at Sikich. “Julia will be a strong asset to our growing federal team, providing mentorship to colleagues and bringing a depth of knowledge and practice to our services.”
Before joining Sikich, Duquette served as a managing director in Grant Thorton’s public sector audit practice. Prior to that, she served as a director at a management advisory firm based in the Washington D.C. area and a principal at an Alexandria, Virginia-based CPA firm. In these roles, she performed financial statement audit services and led audit readiness work for the Department of the Navy and the United States Marine Corps. Duquette has also previously served as assistant director in the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
“Sikich’s federal audit practice strives to serve public interest by promoting transparency and accountability – a mission that aligns with my professional goals,” said Duquette. “I am excited to join this skilled and motivated team, and look forward to opportunities to collaborate with colleagues, support firm growth, and help clients improve efficiencies.”
Prior to hiring Duquette, Sikich recently expanded its federal audit practice with the acquisition of CLA’s Federal Government Practice in December.
